Turkey, macaroni, dressing.. oh my!
It can get easy to skip over those essential items as we’re shopping for those Thanksgiving goods, luckily some of your favorite local grocery stores and retailers keep special holiday hours for times like this. Now, store locations may vary depending on what side of H-Town you call home, but there is still time to snag a few things before everyone arrives to eat.
With that said, let’s start with what will not be open for Thanksgiving.
The following stores will be CLOSED.
- Walmart
- Target
- Costco
- Sam’s Club
- Aldi
- The Galleria

1. Kroger

Most, but not all, Kroger stores will be open on Thanksgiving
2. H-E-B

Stores will open at 6 a.m. and close at noon on Thanksgiving.
- Curbside delivery is available from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.
- Home delivery is available from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.
- The pharmacy is closed.
3. Fiesta Mart

Fiesta Mart is open Thanksgiving Day until 7 p.m.
4. Some Walgreens

Walgreens locations will be closed on Thanksgiving. However, 24-hour locations will remain open.
5. Some Dollar General Stores

Stores will be open. Hours vary by location.
6. Sprouts Farmers Market

Sprouts Farmers Market is open from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
7. Some CVS Stores

Most CVS Pharmacy locations are either open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thanksgiving or are closed.
8. 7-Eleven

A majority of 7-Eleven locations will be open 24/7 with some locations operating with adjusted hours.
